Tomato do-over

Well I was a little overly optimistic about our warm spring weather... We got a hard freeze last weekend and all of my tomatoes perished.

So, after the weather cleared and I double checked the forecast, I re-planted new tomato plants late last week. I didn't get exactly the same varieties, so here's what I ended up with: 4 brandyboys, 1 Fourth of July, and one sun sugar (yellow grape variety). All hybrids, so it's a bit out of character for me, but the brandyboys last summer were every bit as tasty as brandywine and at least twice as hardy.

Everything else survived the frigid weather, and is coming along nicely. My zucchini and squash have even germinated already.  I anticipate we will be eating plenty of fresh lettuce, spinach, and snap peas within the next month. Maybe even some strawberries!

Here are the photo updates:

We will keep our fingers crossed that I don't have to repeat another tomato burial.  Happy gardening!  Cheers!
